Generation HOPE
We plan to reach the youth groups all over the world.
Therefore, the GenerationHOPE concept was created. We need to adapt this “Mangrove Virtual University” web platform to attract the interest of our younger generations by simplifying the text and adding more infographics, animations, gaming applications, and video clips suitable for them. This could involve youth groups and university students in many different countries.
The pilot web page, GenerationHOPE “International youth network” (click=> https://generation-hope.mn.co/feed ), has been created. It aims to be a center point for future project collaborations among youth groups. This communication hub can share ideas, events, news, and project activities and link to many other social media platforms in the internet world. Youth groups invited to join WIF’s GenerationHOPE can have their websites under this platform. We hope their synergies will be the foundation of actual “Green Activities” created nationally and internationally. We will make more e-learning and online long-distance education built-in in media and communication aspects and many of the “Go Green, to-do” topics. We planned to invite as many young journalists, climate activists, university students, and environment educators as possible to join. This successful platform will open a new chance for the GenerationHOPE project to develop suitable projects for potential donors and funding agencies. The sustainability of the network will always be realized and made happen.
Training courses on Mobile Phone Video Reporting for the youth groups in small state island nations. Starting in Kiribati in early January 2024, we have worked closely with the local partner, the South Tarawa Rotary Club of Kiribati, in organizing the event. A 5-day training/workshop was held as a pilot activity. The call for Applications for such scholarships was announced via GenerationHOPE’s new website and many selected social networks. We are now developing an online study course on the same topic to support and back up this workshop and open it to other youth groups in more countries. It is under construction and will need to be finished soon.
