WHAT ARE THE IMPORTANT STEPS TO COLLECT AND STORE MANGROVE SEEDS/PROPAGULES?

Find the correct mangroves for the area you want to plant
Collect the propagules that are mature. Check color
Ensure collected propagules are not broken or damaged by insects

Seed/propagules to be harvested should be ripe/mature and in good condition.
Transport and store the seeds/propagules properly based on experience, or you could collect and plant directly to avoid time wastage and unnecessary expenses incurred while making nurseries.
Collect newly fallen fruits or during fruiting. After collection, carefully transport the seeds/propagules to the storage, select out the seeds carefully separating the good from the bad (due to damage/immaturity), assess the extent of damage.
In case you do not plant immediately, keep watering the propagules to avoid the impact of hit on the seed quality.

Collect propagules that are mature and check for any damage caused by insects or other damages. Sort the propagules and store them for a short period before planting. Water the propagules regularly.
