HOW AND WHEN THE WEEDING OPERATIONS ARE UNDERTAKEN?
You can weed the propagules using knife and grass cutter. Start by making available land for planting by clearing weeds and continue clearing the weeds as they arise. After out-planting, the first weeding is done in October and the second in December, but you can repeat the weeding as much as required. During first round weeding, do stalk talking to identify the mortality rate of the propagules – a rate that is usually attributed to dangerous tree species or other weeds. You can then use new seedlings/propagules to replace non-surviving propagules by direct sowing. The replacement rate is usually placed at 20%. It is necessary to use any herbicides, pesticides, chemicals of fires during weeding as these can cause pollution.

The first weeding should be done before actual planting. Then 3 months after planting and again 3 months after that. At times it is necessary to weed even more often. The weeding must be done by hand. Using herbicides is not recommended

The area must be cleared of weeds before planting. As long as the plants are small, weeding must take place at regular intervals, as a rule every 3rd month. Weeding must be done by hand, as herbicides may have detrimental effects on older trees and useful species.
